US producer Grey Filastine and Indonesian singer Nova Ruth have performed together for several years, and have a series of albums available on Bandcamp.

They also have a boat, which they have named Arka Kinari.

From their their website:

By day Arka Kinari hosts workshops, skill shares, and small concerts by local musicians. By night the ship transforms into a stage for the performance by Filastine & Nova, using music to sound the alarm for climate change and cinematic visuals to imagine life after the carbon economy. As a touring production powered by the sun and shared at public waterfronts, Arka Kinari is both message and method.

The maritime network was the original internet, mixing peoples, languages, and ideas. Arka Kinari revives disappearing trade-routes with culture as the cargo to people back to their waterfronts. Arka Kinari’s maiden voyage stopped in twenty-three nations, crossing the Atlantic, Caribbean, and Panama Canal, before being trapped in the Pacific Ocean for months during the pandemic. Arka Kinari finally entered her home waters of Indonesia in September 2020, and is now touring the spice routes of the archipelago.

The Stranger website has a lot more of the background to their story.

You can see some of what they set out to achieve here:

Right now, in terms of audio, Glass Seagulls probably counts as my favourite track of theirs.

Listen quickly. I might change my mind in a few days.
