One retki after another: today we go to Tampere to Åke’s summer house to collect a garden gnome that he said we can have. We also help with some of the packing he has to do as he closes his family’s summer house for the last time.
We take this red hanging thing back to Helsinki for him. Valto Kokko designed it as a prototype for some glassware he made for iittala: to test colours, shapes and sizes. He gave it to Åke’s mother, Anita Wangel, as a present: not a vase as they would later become, but an interesting hanging object.
