Kitchen, 11:46

We both noticed something on Friday while we did things in the garden in Sundö. Nothing has eaten the fruit. It still hangs on the bushes and trees.

Yesterday I collected a full tub of blackcurrants and then turned my attention to the cherry trees. In previous years birds have eaten the fruit as soon as it appeared. In previous years the few cherries I managed to grab tasted very bitter. Today I gathered two tubs of ripe, sweet cherries. I could have got many more if I had had a ladder to hand.

This tub represents by far the smaller of the two.

Have the birds changed their habits? Has the shifting climate changed their habits for them?
