Helsinki Cathedral crypt, 18:20

Irma has most of the month off as her summer holiday, and so we do a mixture of outings, visits, and surprises. Today she drops a surprise on me at about 17:30 of the ”get in the car, we have somewhere to go” variety.

It turns out that we will drive to Helsinki Cathedral crypt, where we will meet an old friend of hers from the eighties: Jonna Ilvessalo.

Jonna makes things and has the lauch of her joint exhibition Circulation tonight.

Maija Saksman, the media artist, will sing to all the artworks while alternating between a capella and accompanying herself on a battery-operated keyboard and an accordion.

We will stand around talking and listening: to conversation and to accordion music.
