We have come to the K-Rauta in Oulunkylä for reasons that will prove entirely pointless. While carrying out this pointless mission we do, however, come across Paula’s Bar, just inside the entrance of the K-Rauta.

We recognise this immediately as one of a loosely-defined set and walk in immediately for a coffee and whatever else they have. The loosely defined set comprises old-fashioned cafés and canteens that have somehow avoided renovation, or have had a renovation that makes them look old-fashioned without any sense of artifice or irony.

We add this to our list of favourites. It may say baari but it won’t serve you any alcohol.
