Lausanne railway station stands a couple of hundred metres from the hotel, and several metres downhill.

We stand on platform 4 of the station waiting to catch a train straight to Genève airport. I look across and catch a perfect view of apartments, the lake, the mountains and the sky; as well as two passengers coming or going.

In just a few seconds the view I can see will get blocked by a train on platform 6. I just catch it as the train slowly pulls in.
