Ouchy-Olympique, Lausanne, 12:34

We travel from Genève to Lausanne by train. The journey takes an hour or so but we clearly enter a different kind of Switzerland. Genève has hardly any hills. Lausanne has nothing but hills: very steep hills.
We go exploring on the metro and head to the end of the line: Ouchy-Olympique. We walk along the shore and I photograph a paddle-steamer against the mountains in the background.
The metro line, number 2 fact fans, runs from Ouchy-Olympique station all the way to Croissettes station. This encompasses 14 stations and has the highest incline of any urban metro system, according to a leaflet I pick up.
