Somewhere in Vartiokylä a girl bakes bread and cakes every week and delivers them early Saturday mornings to those who order them. Most weeks we order them.

Today Silja has organised a Vappu open house in her yard with doughnuts, sima and more. The weather has got even warmer than the meteorologists predicted and we have cycled round to sit in her garden with her family, neighbours, and other customers.

The doughnuts taste delicious, but we knew that they would.
