We set off in Sanu’s car at 6:30 this morning and drove to Munnar, stopping a couple of times along the way.

We have finally arrived to the Elephant Passage hotel, up several extremely steep lanes, on top of a mountain; and this is what we see from our room. The silence brings itself to our attention as we feel the almost total lack of noise. We stand on the balcony looking out at the mountains and hear a wild elephant far off in the distance.

Downstairs we have a private jacuzzi which I will misuse gleefully.
