This kind of bird spends most of its time standing on the back of a cow. They have a symbiotic relationship in which the bird keeps the cow free of ticks and the cow happily ignores it.

The cow to which the bird has attached itself grazes a few metres away. One day I will manage to photograph them together but not today.

I have walked down to the beach while Irma works online. I can see no tourists at all when I get there, which seems a very bad sign. I meet the man from Spice Dot Com, who has opened a second shop in a little alley off the beach. I then walk round and meet Antonella and Christine at The Village, before returned home in a heat I have not yet got used to.

It has not rained at all since we arrived.
