Home, 14:45

Irma leaves the house in the early afternoon for a meeting and I decide to watch some television that I know she will not like. She made it very clear that she does not want to waste any time with the Sparks Brothers documentary, so I find it on Areena and start watching.

I find it a bit long, in the modern fashion, but interesting. The two of them continue to give very little away about their lives outside Sparks, as they have every right to do, while appearing to answer every question they get asked.

Their attitude to their attitude also remains opaque. They appear to claim that their attitude stems from their upbringing in a way that suggests that we should take what they do at face value, while making clear (with visual and verbal asides) that we absolutely shouldn’t.

Having said that, and whatever other reservations you may have, you cannot fault their persistence and tenacity; and their constant reinvention has led to some music that I like a lot. Personally I like their most recent phase the most: the one that begins with Lil Beethoven.
