Sometimes you take a photograph and get what you expect. Sometimes it looks better than you imagined and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes, however, you take a photograph of one thing and end up with something you never imagined and didn’t even know you wanted.
Just now I peered out of the window into the dark and found myself looking at the various winter lights in the garden. I wondered if I could photograph them with my camera, because I certainly couldn’t with my phone.
The answer turns out a peculiar mixture of no and yes. No, I couldn’t capture any of the lights as they appeared to my eye. Yes, I could capture this image which I could see.
