I have two cds to collect from the library, both of them by Dexy’s Midnight Runners. They arose to the surface of my memory because I saw them when I went to London. Mark and Eileen had got tickets.

Upstairs I look at the current exhibition: Invisible Backpack by Maria Vilja. The blurb asks, “What does an invisible backpack look like? What does it feel like? And what’s inside? The ‘Invisible Backpack’ exhibition invites visitors to ponder these questions. The exhibition is based on the children’s book of the same name by illustrator Maria Vilja (Karisto, 2022)”.

The exhibition consists of some installation-type objects like the one I photographed, and a number of her painted illustrations, which I find very interesting in their elision of painterly backgrounds and comic book figures.
