Kaisaniemen puisto hosts the India Day festivities today and we have volunteered again to staff the Finnish-Indian Association stall in the afternoon.

The weather suddenly turns hot and the cold, wet afternoon we had glumly expected melts away. Early in the afternoon a troupe of female kummattikali dancers get ready in the small space next to the stall.

I race off to catch them as they walk towards the stage. One of the dancers carries on an animated conversation on her phone as she approaches while the others stare ahead.
