We have found some VHS cassettes that we want to digitise and so I sent an email to Nicke Hällgren at Arcada, and today I set off there to do some converting. The building seems almost completely deserted – the staff arrive next week and the students a week or two later – so Nicke pops in and out to see that the conversion process works and to chat.

As I walk to Arcada from the tram I notice that Chico’s has now turned into a branch of Iguana. I take a detour to have a look. The decor has changed. The menu remains more or less the same.

On the way home I notice that the work at Sörnäinen metro has now finished and the R-Kioski has reopened. Or, more precisely, a new R-Kioski has sprung up in approximately the same place as the old one. The sweet shop and the nail salon have returned too.
