Simi and I went to deliver brochures to an anganwadi in Vavamoola this morning and then collected Lekshmi. As a result we have arrived at Thozhichal almost an hour early. In an exciting plot twist this will prove very fortunate. The teacher has a training meeting at midday and the anganwadi will close early. If we had arrived at the correct time we would have arrived too late.

As we walk in Lekshmi notices a dead crow by the gate. We surmise that it got electrocuted by one of the many wires linking to the power substation next door to the nursery.

As we approach the gate I see this stencil lying on the ground. Coincidence? I don’t think so…
