Today’s session at SISP suffered from pre-monsoon “maintenance”. In order to disentangle the electric wires from the trees, the workmen had disconnected the wires. Disconnected the wires had cut all electricity supplies to the building we use in SISP.

Fortunately, the laptops had all been fully charged so the session could still take place. Unfortunately the fans didn’t work, the building has a corrugated, metal roof, and the temperature had risen to 35 (“feels like 43”, says the weather forecast).

I leave SISP looking and feeling as though people have spent the last two hour throwing buckets of water over me. Steam rises from me as I get in the rickshaw.

One shower later I go for a walk to try to buy some bananas. I will find the kiosk shut: something I have never seen before. I walk back and spot this wall. I like a good abstract pattern.
