We have a hollowed-out decoration that hangs from a jackfruit tree. Originally we had some idea about small birds moving into it and nesting there.
Close, but not close enough.
Today we discovered that a huge insect seems to have moved in and started nesting there. We suspect that the thing we can see it hugging will burst open at some point soon and turn into another insect.
I find this intriguing because I have never seen insects produce young in ones and twos, which undoubtedly says more about my ignorance of the animal kingdom than the lifestyles of the insect world.
