We have seen these in Riga, and now I have seen three here. I cannot seem to get a straight answer and so I remain puzzled.

In Finland and Sweden the state runs a monopoly selling alcohol. In Finland we have Alko. In Latvia the state does not have a monopoly although it still runs Alk shops.

They say outlet and I do not understand what this means. Outlet usually describes a shop that sells surplus stock or outdated lines at a discount. Does the Alk outlet sell surplus wine?

And what would that mean?
