Hietanieman Krematorio, 12:34

The snow began in earnest last night and I woke up to find my previous work obliterated. I got up and spent a couple of hours clearing the drive and paths again. The snow had a heavy and wet quality which made it entertainingly more difficult.

The sheer amount of snow has given everywhere a postcard-like quality that shows in the strangest of places. From a distance the crematorium reminds me of an outpost from an imaginary David Lynch movie, its orange shining out of the monochrome and white surroundings.

The graveyard nearby has an eerie stillness under a blanket of white, with all the sounds muffled as we walk along the path.
