I spent the afternoon at SISP with Sahan and Simi. In the rickshaw, on the way there and the way back, I became interested in the rapid conversations that Sahan had with Rajeev. Malayalam resembles the kind of English spoken in Glasgow: rapid-fire and prone to pauses for almost silent laughter.

When we arrive at Sarovaram Sahan and I stand talking and I suddenly notice the water purifier in all its blueness. We wander over to look at it and I realise that, just like the water tank on the roof, it seems to consist of a lot more pipes than you might expect.

In the evening we will go to Samudra to eat with Susan Watts. Irma will finish an online meeting and join us.
