Albert Dock, 12:34
We decided to walk down to the riverside to watch the boats and ferries. We wandered around the museums and gift shops and stopped for chips and prosecco at So Greek Full, a Greek takeaway in a converted van, so that we could sit and watch barges navigating through the turn.
As we walk along I pause to take a photograph of the buildings that lead up to Albert Dock. The sun continues to act as though we have come to the equator at the height of summer.
When we walk back we will notice large gangs of women, some already on their way to getting drunk, moving into the area where we have our apartment. Some have very little in the way of clothing and platform heels that they can scarcely walk in. We will watch one woman getting her friends to hold her up as she experiments with methods of movement that don’t involve falling over.
The bank holiday weekend has begun.
