Sandholm, 17:34
Every Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00 the farmers and fishers hold a mid–week market in addition to the one on Saturday. Today we make it to the final mid–week market of the year.
To my great surprise the market place has filled up. It feels like the mid–summer market; as though everyone on the islands has decided they must attend. I queue for about fifteen minutes for fish from Vikke and Nina, hoping that the fish won’t run out before I get served. I notice that Jorre and Johanna have a similar queue for their fish, and that both vegetable stalls also have long lines.
Benita’s does not have a single space at any of the tables and people have begun to spill into the road. I never really enjoy it when it gets packed: when the terrace has loud crowds with lots of dogs of different sizes barking at each other, and standing room only.
We walk past the terrace and head home.
