On the way to Sundö we stop at the Friday market at Bjurböle, because we finally pass before the market closes. When we get out of the car we spot that the difference between open and closed might not prove as noticeable as we had hoped.

The market contains six or seven stalls in a place that could house thirty without appearing full. We spot Ritva and buy some buns from her. We buy a rhubarb pie from another old lady and we look at Hasse Källgren’s fish stall. For reasons lost to history, Hasse, the father of Jorre, Peter and Vikke, never appears at Pellinge market himself, but only at other local markets and in Borgå.

I spot two toy trucks under a stall selling bric a brac and photograph them.
