Itäväylä, 17:20

I woke up and had breakfast, and then wrote a peer review for an article in Cultural Trends, which Sara edits. I had had an email chat with her yesterday about the details of the assignment (how pedantic should I be?) and so I was happy that I knew what I was doing.

I packed the laptop and left for work about 9:00 leaving Naa still fast asleep and the cat keen to be allowed out. The morning passed supervising the Advanced Web Applications assignment, which consisted of answering a random series of questions about various aspects of WordPress development. Mostly this involved trying simultaneously to understand and explain the inner workings of a theme that I had never seen before.

I passed the afternoon with Virtual Worlds Research, where we actually got some non-player characters up and running, or at least walking. As the session finished I wrote a script to enable me to control mine by chat. The script is expandable to enable me to add more chat commands tomorrow.

Now I am almost home, and the sky is turning very dark again. In an hour, while I am making spaghetti with the meat left over from Sunday’s stuffed marrows, it will turn black and begin raining loudly and heavily for an hour or more.

For that period the cat will stop whining to go out, and sit by the window watching silently.
