A day of writing. Just before lunch I wander around the house thinking about what I should have written, and didn’t quite manage. I have written a large number of words, but I remain unconvinced about whether I should regard them as the right words.
I look at a couple of the Etko cans and think about the design. They have a variety of different labels with no particular house design to the illustrations. Some just have colour washes. Some have cartoons. Some have distressed photographs. They all hold together because of the strip with the name of the beer and the details. That strip functions not just as information but as a way of holding all sort of illustrative styles together.
It works very well indeed: from the typeface to the spacing and the colour.
