We board the plane at 9:30 to discover that our flight will take ninety minutes longer than scheduled because Finnair no longer considers the sky over Ukraine as safe airspace.

Time to watch two movies then.

In practice no movies get watched. I sit and read books, magazines and clippings I have saved in Joplin from sundry sources. At a time of fourteen minutes past some hour or other (my iPad, still on Dubai time, says 13, your time may vary) I look out of the window as we begin to move over Turkish airspace.

I take some photos of the blue and brown.

We will arrive in Helsinki at the planned time. Presumably the pilot hurried. When we get thrre we will discover what someone appears to have built an entirely new airport since we left. We will have to ask sombody in a new R-Kioski how to get to the car park.
