Lighthouse beach, 13:45

We came to Lighthouse beach to change some money and Tangaray leaves us at Temple Place. We walk along the path and notice the amount of fish in the small stream. The stream used to choke under the sheer amount of rubbish and waste people threw in it; so the pandemic has benefitted some forms of life.

We walk down the rear alley, the one that runs parallel to the beach. Last time everything had closed. Today some shops have opened again. I hear what sounds like Christine Winberg’s voice in the distance, and yes I heard right. We find her in quarantine in the grounds of The Village, where she arrived from Sweden three days ago.

We walk back along the seafront. We can see two people on sunbeds. The rest of the beach looks completely empty except for a couple of sunbathing dogs. We stop for some time in Lakpay’s shop, the Yak Boutique, and chat.

I photograph two woman carrying their baskets to collect fish which they will later deliver to those restaurants that have opened up and down the seafront.
