Myllypuro , 9:23
I had an appointment at 9:00 this morning at the Metropolia campus in Myllypuro where to get my Covid-19 booster shot. When I get this I will have all the protection a person can get short of moving to a lighthouse.
After the vaccination I join a small group in a room where we sit and wait for fifteen minutes to make sure we don’t have an immediate adverse reaction. Once I have successfully failed to collapse or fall over I get up, leave the building, and turn right down a path that leads under the ring road.
Every side of the two bridges have received unofficial artwork, some of which I like a lot. I stop and take some photographs. The light has a resigned grayness to it.
I walk through the building work going on to create a new suburb just next to the ring road and within ten minutes cross a path I regularly use in my local walks. I turn onto that and get home within another ten or fifteen minutes. If I had any reason to go to Metropolia I could walk there and back as a pleasant exercise.
The problem with this idea lies solely in the fact that I cannot think of a single reason I might want to go to Metropolia.
