Stockmann, Itis, 17:54

Work over, we have come to Itis to look around, before going to Prisma to buy groceries.

I stand outside Stockmann and contemplate the minimalistic Christmas window display. Inside the shop I can see similar metal trees with balls hanging from them.

I cannot decide if the minimalism constitutes cost savings or an artistic statement. Then I remember how, ten years ago or less, the whole areas outside the shop, where I stand looking at the window display, used to come alive with a kind of Christmas street market.

Cost saving, I think: although whoever designed the window with those instructions did a very good job. It almost looks like an artistic decision.

But not quite.
