Perlan, 18:36
Yesterday we went for a meal and then walked for an hour and a half through wind that we would call a flat out gale in any other country till we eventually got back to the hotel. I fell asleep immediately as soon as I got to my room to wake at 4 am to the sound of wind outside my window, and then dozed, unable to get back to sleep properly, until I got up a few minutes before 7:00.
I had the job of chairing today’s session which started at 9:00 and allegedly finished at shortly after 17:00. We went through all nine stages of the VAKEN process in detail and ended up with something that we all felt worked.
After a brief break we left for Perlan, a museum dedicated to the Wonders of Iceland. People had spoken about walking there but the rain and the fact that the walk would take an hour quickly changed this to talk of taxis.
The museum had a lot of interesting displays and the geological facts about Iceland seemed like the global catastrophe in miniature.
The museum contained a simulated ice cave and inside that I took a series of photographs, not all of which produced recognisable images.
