On a long holiday weekend DIY comes to the fore. See the cupboard. See the cupboard without doors. See the wide range of cupboard doors available at Ikea.

If you drive to Ikea early enough you can park in an almost deserted car park, and wander round an almost deserted store. We get there early enough. We wander undisturbed.

As we walk through a shrine to the value of candles I notice the wall display, since for the first time in the history of shopping nobody stands in my way looking baffled. I photograph a wall of colourful wax.

We will find a couple of small and useful innovations. We will collect our doors. We will drive off in search of further holiday adventure.
