Prisma, 17:35

I have just returned a load of books and cds that I borrowed from the library two weeks ago. On the way home I stop in Prisma, where I buy this year’s edition of The Forecast, one of Monocle’s spinoffs.

I continue to have contradictory feelings and thoughts about Monocle. One day I will try to think them all through and come to a definite conclusion. Today though I will simply purchase the expensive magazine and take it home.

Standing for a second by the info counter I look up at the escalators to the second floor, where XXL continues to try to sell sportswear to people who have lost the habit of going outdoors.

Looking again I decide that I should say “travelator” and not “escalator”. It has no steps.
