Puotila Beach, 11:12

This morning we discovered a few large flies buzzing around the dustbin. Why did we notice this? I have never seen flies alive and well in Helsinki in November before, and I could not help notice it.

Now I walk along the sea in Puotila, and ducks bob up and down watching me as I pass. The ducks stay until the water freezes when they reluctantly head south. This year it looks as though they may not need to move at all.

I capture an image of birds in an autumn tree. The sky is bright blue, and the sun is bright near the horizon.

Later, at home, I will notice a spider running across the work-room floor as I do some Saturday cleaning. That, too, will strike me as unusual in November.
