Puotila Beach, 11:21

Summer seems to have returned and I go for a long weekend walk in a hooder and jeans. I listen to Melvyn Bragg overseeing a discussion about cave paintings. I must look up the paintings at Chauvet and Lascaux. Apparently they offer strong evidence to suggest that humans did not have a monopoly on art. New tests seem to demonstrate that Neaderthals created at least some of the paintings.

As I listen to this I walk down past Plantagen to the sea and then along to the beach. I discover hundreds of birds crowded onto the shore, some in the water and some on land. I sit and watch for ten minutes and turn back to home.

In a burst of activity we will not only do all the cleaning we usually do on a Saturday, we will also do most of the things we usually do on Sunday.

By the end of the afternoon we will find ourselves halfway through tomorrow and still gaining velocity.
