You can find hundreds and thousands of game engines if you look, and students never cease to find more. This morning a student asked Mirko about Ren’Py, which neither of us had ever heard of.

The web page looks like this.

It seems to offer the tools to build narrative games, or interactive novels if you like. In this it seems similar to Twine, which I have used for several years in Interactive Storytelling.

I mention all of this as an aide memoire. In a year’s time, when someone asks me if I know any Japanese game engine I can recommend, I might remember to look here.
