The weekend has seen the return of summer and today has got hotter than I can remember. I had to go indoors at one point to avoid the sun.

Walking back to the car we pass a single lonely electric scooter, carefully parked and waiting for someone to want it.

We have passed others, but they all stood around in little clusters, or occasionally lay on the ground as though they had lost any interest in taking anyone anywhere. This one, though, looks ready for action.

If only someone wanted it.
