Every July the summer market in Pellinge opens on Wednesday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings. This year July 1st falls on a Wednesday for the first time since 2015, and so the month begins with a market.

The weather has got better since yesterday but the wind remains high and most people remain at home. The market has customers, as does Benita, but neither has as many as most people expected.

I photograph the market almost an hour in. The small queues have vanished and (unusually) people get served as soon as they arrive.

We talk with Ville and Margit, who will move to Kotka later in the month Lakku joins us, and then Elina and Eero lean over the fence for a long chat.

They tell us something very surprising.
