Bonk as fashion, fashion as history
POSTED: May 19, 2020
The story so far: driven mad by eight weeks of working from home, hardly daring to go out, and having hardly anywhere to go our intrepid explorers hold a large spring-cleaning exercise that takes most of a weekend.
The weekend results in a variety of objects surfacing from whatever hiding places they have found over the last decade. Books appear, toys arise, shoes make themselves known, and clothes saunter into view.
I have already posted evidence of a Boing Boing t-shirt from the nineteen nineties, and now we need to review the phenomenon of Bonk. If you want to see an example of the Bonk aesthetic in action, you can find one right here. If you want more details you can find them here in Wikipedia.
If you want to know where, when and why I bought the t-shirt you can find out here.
The short version: Porvoo, on Monday July 30, 2012.
Here you see the front of the t-shirt.
Here you see the back of the t-shirt.
