We started at 7am. Vinesh drove us. We stopped on the side of the road for our first experience of Indian tailgating: home made appam and chutney with bracingly sweet coffee.

Five hours later we arrived in Kochi, checked into our ”non-hotel hotel”, and went for a walk.

Walking down Princess Street I look through the stable doors to a homestay. I found other things to look at too.

We will visit Cult Modern and chat for an hour. We will find somewhere to eat.

We will go back to a bed with a mosquito net, disguised as the upper portion of a four poster bed. Even better the hotel will have a games room.

Even better still, the games room will have a carrom board.
