Lighthouse Beach, 16:45

On Christmas Day the local fishermen all come to the beach and ride their boats in and out while drinking all day. The beach becomes completely crowded.
We arrived by rickshaw and it took as a long, long time to get down the beach road, through the people and traffic.
Irma has gone into Lakhpay’s shop to talk and I have wandered out to look at the beach. I stand in the shade under a palm tree and take some photographs. In the distance I can see a man with a bicycle selling ice-cream.
In the evening we will go to Samudra beach and eat with Paul and Verne in complete tranquility.
