Suck.com 90s style

On the way to work I started thinking about 90s web design. I then started trying to remember the name of the web column I used to read regularly.

When I got to Arcada it took me quite a time to find a search term that would reveal the name of this site to me. Eventually I found it and headed to the Wayback Machine where I read through a couple of columns.

This design seemed cutting edge at the time, and the writing style seemed thrilling.

Finally I looked up the history of Suck.com in Wikipedia (easy now I finally knew the site’s name again).

Like pirate radio ships in the 60s Suck lasted a much shorter time than my memory suggests. Both remain interesting though, and possibly more interesting for making such an impression on me in such a short time.

Oh no: I have caught myself thinking about thinking again.
