Hämeetie, 11:11
After two and a half hours racing through today’s list in Todoist, I have almost cracked it. I pause and decide to walk to the mall to buy lunch. As I walk along past the television studio I spot a parked e-scooter.
Two brands of electric kick-scooters (TIER from Germany and Swedish company VOI) have dropped into Helsinki this summer, and they lay around everywhere. In theory a willing customer spots one lying around, flashes their credit card at it, leaps on, and then parks it somewhere when they reach their destination.
Unsurprisingly, “park it somewhere” has many possible interpretations, and “drop it anywhere and walk away” seems the most popular. This one, at least, stands vertically. Many in the centre form piles, like outdoor bring and buy sales.
