Itäväylä, 9:21
Last night I felt my cold stirring, and so I had a British flu tablet, a Finnish hot drink, and an Indian cough drop in rapid succession. I also went to bed earlier than I had intended.
This morning I woke up to the sound of my alarm, heard the cat gently snoring, looked outside at the snow falling in the pitch dark, and went back to sleep. I slept for another hour and then got up to repeat the tablet, hot drink, cough drop routine.
Sunshine went out and wanted to come in again approximately two minutes later.
Now I stand at the bus stop having watched the bus I intended to get sail past three minutes early. I have to wait another ten minutes, assuming the next one arrives on time. I look at the pavement where I can see the footprints of passengers who did arrive in time. The snow has stopped for the moment but since it has apparently snowed all night we have no shortage. The trees all look like cliched illustrations for Christmas cards, and the noise of the traffic is soft in the slush.
I will get to Arcada and Irma will send me some messages from her hotel. She has had a large fried breakfast from the look of the picture she sent, and she has now left to undertake her role as visiting expert. I will spend a couple of hours familiarising myself with the latest version of jointsWP, which the CMS course will begin using this afternoon. I will also go through the Pixelache site again, because they will attempt to create a WordPress theme for Pixelache: one that keeps the look and feel of the current site but allows it to run in WordPress.
