It is some time since I have received any interesting spam. The most recent one was from Lady Erica in March, but this wasn’t very exciting. It was just a more interesting version than usual of “you have a chance to make a lot of money”.

Yesterday I received the best spam that I can remember getting. I suppose that it is a bit cruel and might disturb some recipients (if they are somewhat dim, unusually gullible and unhealthily paranoid). It is however a breath of fresh air compared to the letters I receive telling me that I have won a lottery I have never heard of.

Here is the email in its entirety. The subject line is “Your Life Is At Risk”.

Hello,

I am a Murder Agent am from Singapore but i live in Spain. i’ve no other job than to kill to survive…don’t know the business transaction you had with one of your close friend.he payed me to kill you.i don’t know what you did to him and i don’t care to know..but the person wants you dead and right now your life is in my hands..you have just 48hours to live after that me and my men shall come for your life..my men are surrounding your house right now watching you and if you do anything stupid you shall receive a gun short from us.. but i can help you if you will pay me double of what he payed me………and i can also tell you who ordered us to kill you..but that will be after you have payed to save your life..your life is in your hands now.

Do not inform the police because my men are watching you

DO NOT TELL ANYBODY THIS AND IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SMART YOU CAN GO AHEAD AND TELL ABOUT THIS, THE BALL IS IN YOU COURT

Dan

FORGIVENESS IS A SIN.

The very weapon which may shortly end my life

The last line is in red and is followed by this image of a long distance rifle. The mail is from Daniel Chan. I like the friendly Dan that he uses to sign off, presumably so that I will feel that we are building a relationship.

The question now is: do I answer to find out the next stage in “Dan’s” cunning plan, or not?
