Story of the week: fat-shamed

This story appeared in the main news section of the Hindustan Times on March 18, while we stayed in Kochi.

The story interests me, not because of the alleged fat-shaming, but because it consists of a series of non-sequitors that end in complete bathos. Briefly: an overweight policeman who suffered from an impolite tweet has now had a minor and unconnected urinary tract infection and “will be on oral medication for the next five days”.

I will point out that I saw this “news” in a national newspaper.
